The 19th Khwarizmi International Award
|
The
Iranian Research
Organization for Science and Technology (IROST)
announces the annual Khwarizmi International Award
(KIA). The IROST aims to recognize the
efforts by researchers, innovators and inventors,
both in Iran and all over the world and to
appreciate their valuable achievements and
contributions to various fields of science and
technology. The eligible fields are Engineering,
Basic Sciences, Human Sciences, Agriculture and
Arts. The submitted works should be in one of the
following categories;
>Inventors
>Innovations
>Applied Research
>Fundamental Research
Interested candidates are requested to submit the
Original Projects and research works along with the
completed
Application Form and submit it with the
requested information to the Ministry of
Communication, Science and Technology no later than
the end of September, 2005. For further information

ISESCO Grant to sponsor
Working Visit of International Expertise to Research
Institutions in the Member States
|

The Islamic
Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization
(ISESCO) offers Grants to sponsor working visits
of international scientists and experts to research
institutions in the Islamic countries. This Grant is
intended to support human capacity building in the
field of scientific and technological research and
development and exchange of information and
expertise with international scientists to enhance
local creativity, self-confidence and encourage
excellence in scientific research in the Islamic
countries to the requirement of new millennium.
Interested research/development institutions are
requested to fill the
Application Form and submit it with the required
documents to the Ministry of Communication Science
and Technology by 15th July 2005.

COMSTECH announces the award of biennial prizes |
| The Organization
of Islamic Conference Standing Committee on Scientific
and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) announces
the award of biennial prizes, which are intended
to encourage and support scientific contributions
in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.
Presently COMSTECH has announced nominations in
the field of Biology and Chemistry.
These awards will be conferred by the President
of Pakistan on the occasion of the COMSTECH General
Assembly, scheduled to be held from November 22-24,
2005.
Each prize consists of a cash award of US$ 5000
and a personalized plaque mentioning the recipient’s
major contributions.
Interested candidates are requested
to submit a 1-2 page profile, a list of publications
relevant to the Prize, the biodata and latest
passport size photograph to the Ministry of Communication
Science and Technology by 15 May 2005.

of the Government Network of Maldives was awarded to
CET Technologies Pte Ltd (CET), of Singapore, today
(28th February 2005). The Contract was signed by Mr.
Faaig Umar, Director of National Centre for
Information Technology on behalf of the Government
of Maldives and by Mr. Seah Moon Ming, Charmain of

(Strengthening Maldivian Initiatives for a
Long-term Energy Strategy) has been
launched. The address of the website is

The SMILES project, launched on 5th May 2004,
aimed at supporting the Maldivian government
initiatives to formulate and implement a
sustainable energy policy through both demand
side and supply side management strategies. With
co-funding from the European Commission under
the Asia Pro Eco Programme, this project can be
considered a local contribution to the
mitigation of global warming.
