IT POLICY

The national ICT policy is to ensure the maximization of the potentials of ICT by providing over-arching policies, incentives and legislative to promote through the country so that people in the Maldives can have better access to various opportunities in all aspects of life such as health, education, administration, business, to say nothing of communication etc.

In view of the fact that the development of a national ICT Policy and Strategies will have significant influence over all aspects of ICT projects in the Maldives, it can be justified to start the ball rolling with the formulation of the national ICT Policy and Strategies.

With the Assistance of UNDP, MCST plans to run a project to develop the national IT policies and strategies. This will be very much a consultative process with the government agencies, private sector and the island communities. As documents are developed it will be posted on this website for comments.
