INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY STANDARDS GROUP (ITSG)
Information Technology Standards Group (ITSG) will develop
or recommend adoption of information technology standards,
frameworks and guidelines. The ITSG will be formed by seconding
expertise as needed from other ministries and industry. A
pool of members (ten to twelve) to work in the ITSG will be
assigned from the public sector and the industry. The members
will be appointed for the duration of six months.
A working group will be formed to deal with a specific issue
or requirement, and then disbanded once the task is complete.
Members, who are unable to contribute fully to the ITSG (for
example due to work constraints), will be replaced upon the
advice of the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Communications,
Science and Technology.
Specifically the ITSG will undertake the following tasks under
the guidance of the National Computer Center.
To assist the ITAC in achieving the committees goals and objectives
- To prepare and propose procedures, guidelines, frameworks
and standards with respect to issues concerning information
technology deployment in the Maldives
- Upon request from the NCC, to conduct reviews, system studies
and/or analyse systems for conformance to the procedures,
guidelines, frameworks and standards
- If necessary, to prepare reports, in Dhivehi as well as
in English, for submission to the Information Technology Advisory
Committee
- To undertake any additional tasks as may be reasonably
requested by the NCC
