Network Turnkey Bidding Documents Released

The Ministry of Communication Science & Technology ("the Employer") invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for design-build and completion of the Government Network of Maldives (Network Turnkey Project). This network will connect Government Organizations in Male’ and in 23 main islands and will be composed of:

• a Metropolitan Area Network built over Ethernet and DSL technologies,
• a National Satellite Network for the connection of islands,
• the distribution networks for the connection of sites inside the islands,
• the common network infrastructure for the hosting of Government applications and the secured access to Internet

Network equipment will be complemented with the required civil works, engineering, installation, validation, maintenance and training services to achieve a fully operational result.

Bidding documents are available from 23 November 2003 onwards. A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested eligible bidders on submission of a written application to the above office, and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of US$500.
