Contract for the Implementation of the Government Network
of Maldives awarded
Contract for the Implementation of the Government Network of
Maldives was awarded to CET Technologies Pte Ltd (CET), of
Singapore, today (28th February 2005). The Contract was signed
by Mr. Faaig Umar, Director of National Centre for Information
Technology on behalf of the Government of Maldives and by Mr.
Seah Moon Ming, Charmain of CET Technologies Pte Ltd.
To be completed by the end of 2006, the Maldives Government
Network will enable government agencies, health and education
facilities, courts of justice, police and security services and
parastatal organizations to share their information
electronically. The network will also provide remote access to
common applications and services, as well as allowing the public
to access government information and services through the
Internet, and other services. Organizations linked by the
network across the 23 islands will include schools, hospitals,
courts of justice, police and coast guards headquarters and
government offices.
This initiative is in line with the Government’s pursuit of
making the government agencies more efficient and transparent,
while delivering public services to its people using
state-of-the-art information and communication technologies.

The Second stage of the evaluation
process of the bids submitted for the Network Turnkey
component (implementation of the Government Network of
Maldives) of the Information Technology Development
Project has now been completed. Seven bidders applied
for the Network turnkey component, out of which three
were invited to the second stage of the evaluation
process following the first stage of the evaluation. out
of these three bidders CET Technologies private Limited
(Singapore) has been evaluated as the "first ranked
firm" for the implementation of the Government Network
of Maldives. Contract Negotiations are currently under

Second Stage Bid Proposals for Government Network to be opened on the 8 th August |
|
The National Centre for Information Technology will open the bid proposals for the second stage evaluation of the bids for establishment of the Government Network of Maldives (GNM), under the Network Turnkey of the Information Technology Development Project (ITDP), on the 8 th August 2004.
The deadline for submission of proposals for second stage of the evaluation process is 1100 hours on the 8 th August 2004. Three parties from the seven parties who submitted proposals for the Network Turnkey were invited, after the first stage evaluation, to submit second stage proposals with clarifications and or modifications as required by the first stage of the evaluation process. The opening of the bids for second stage evaluation is scheduled for 8 th August 2004 at 1200 hours.
The Network Turnkey component of the ITDP, for the establishment of the GNM, is expected to begin late this year and be completed by the end of 2006.

First Stage Evaluation of the ITDP Network and Application Turnkey Completed

First stage evaluation of the Network and Application Turnkey Projects of the Information Technology Development Project has been completed. The first stage evaluations assess the bid proposals for Financial and Technical responsiveness, as per the instructions in the bid documents. The results of this evaluation are currently being reviewed and all bidders will shortly be notified of their result. Bidders who are evaluated substantially responsive to the first stage requirements will be sent a clarification document and given four weeks to submit clarifications as required by this document. |

Bidding documents for the Network Turnkey Project and Application Turnkey Project are available from 23 November 2003 onwards. A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested eligible bidders on submission of a written application to the Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology, and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of US$500. |
